Small Blue Ball
©2000 kimrea Uptown with the dawn birds Listening to the day emerge Like an organisim waking up Waking up from sleeping Like an unconscious river meeting the sea. On a small blue ball with a life of it's own Bouncing around the galaxy From who's hand are we thrown? Will there be someone there To catch me when I'm falling? Sitting on a stone bench A statue with eyes and ears Observing I can see The curve of the earth. Dizzy, I can feel it's steady turning. On a small blue ball with a life of it's own Bouncing around the galaxy From who's hand are we thrown? Will there be someone there To catch me when I'm falling? Watching a sparrow satisfied With a crumb and a song Receiving his simple wants and needs I can feel the universe expanding And contracting like God breathing. On a small blue ball with a life of it's own Bouncing around the galaxy From who's hand are we thrown? Will there be someone there To catch me when I'm falling? |
